Place Poems
Everyone has a favorite place. Sharing is a great way to begin a conversation about hopes and dreams for a new schoolyard or neighborhood park. What would it be like to make your playground feel safe and cozy? Like a bedroom? Or magical like Halloween night?
Place poems are simple and easily adjusted for different ages and languages. Children can take these home and have family members do their own. Conversations at home are a powerful way to begin advertising for design projects and future community meetings. This format breaks ideas down easily to be used by designers, and inspires art that can be displayed at school or meetings to promote a project.
